Full page Illustration for Frankie Magazine

Frankie, styled as frankie, is a bi-monthly Australian magazine that features music, art, fashion, photography, craft and other cultural content. This portfolio piece is a full page editorial illustration to accompany an article about history's deadliest fashion

The brief was to incorporate 5 key items from fashion history and their associated hazard:

- The crinoline - a massive hoop structured skirt, often caught fire
- 'Father killer' collars - high, stiff collars that could cause asphyxiation
- Arsenic dyed dresses - beautiful but deadly
- Radium painted watches (a horrific part of history, if you delve in - be warned)
- Felt hats made with mercury (Mad Hatters came from this)

Super interesting and horrifying at the same time to research!

This was a mock brief set by frankie in conjunction with Inky Goodness Collective. It was not commissioned by frankie magazine, portfolio piece only.
